Whale Watching
The first whales arrive in South Africa as early as May and stay as late as November. This gives you a sure opportunity to observe these fabulous creatures from the shores of the South Peninsula in Cape Town. In fact, you could observe them right from your private garden or while sipping your coffee in bed in the Seaview Cottage.

Outdoor Activities
The less populated shores of southern Cape Town offer a large variety of very accessible outdoor activities up in the mountains or along the shores and beaches. From rock climbing to mountain biking, birdwatching to hiking, it is all there for you to partake in. All this is just a stone’s throw away from your accommodation. The hiking trails into the Silvermine Nature Reserve, which is part of the Table Mountain National Park, literally start just behind the house.

Birdwatching
Along the shores of the sea as well as the Zandvlei lagoon there are many walkways and islands that allow you to observe a variety of special birds in their natural habitat. Rondevlei Nature Reserve boasts not only 200 different species of birds, but 4 hippos as well. The unique fynbos around the cottage and up on the mountain is home to colourful sunbirds and other typical species.
